LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) He saw a chance and took it.
That’s how Lexington police are describing the thief who snatched the Pandora jewelry store inside Fayette Mall for nearly $7,000. And, he was not alone.
Lexington police say the two men likely came to buy jewelry, but found it easier to steal. “The gentleman saw and kind of did a double take when he saw the charms sitting down,” Detective Anthony Delimpo said.
A crime of opportunity police said when a store worker stopped mid-task to help another customer.
Police say the video shows the thief did not go looking for a handful of Pandora charms, but multiple times.
MORE CRIME STOPPERS:
“He looks around then takes some, looks around again and takes some more,” Delimpo said. “Look around and take an extra amount. About 100 charms were taken so it was definitely a crime of opportunity and I think they are local or live in the general area of central Kentucky.
